Bulbophyllum binnendijkii

Scientific name:Bulbophyllum binnendijkii

Located in mountain areas in Java and Borneo at an altitude of 1000~1400 meters above sea level, epiphytic or terrestrially grown on mossy trunks or fallen leaves. Robust species. Pseudo-bulb is cylindrical, the top has a large leaf. This species’ flower is very large. The flower is on top of the scape, and has 8 to 12 flowers blooming wheel-shaped, each flower has its characteristics, the overall look is very bold. Lip is red, it shakes with minor irritation, looks like in the lure of insects. Malodorous. Flower’s life is about one week, flowering period is in spring.
